On average a water heater draws 3500 watts/hr = .875kw/hr. during non-use hours, (15 min/hr heating time) times $.09/hr. X 12 hrs./day (10 pm-4 am and 9 am-3 pm) = $.945 savings per day, times 20 days a month (Mon – Fri.), = $18.90/month savings, plus 4 weekends per month (10pm-6am.), for a savings of an additional $5.04/month, for a total of $23.94/month times 12 months = $287.28 on your electric bill per year!
